Clara Rose – Announces Summer Dates

The Clara Rose Band will hit the road this summer – we are playing some of our favourite venues and blues festivals with details to be announced – hope to catch you on the trail!

Also in BIG news Clara Rose will support one of U.S.A’s finest songwriters Chris Smither in Dublin’s premier music venue Whelan’s on Sunday June 4th. Don’t miss this special show!

Clara Rose set to record NEW solo album

Delighted to announce that Clara Rose is back in the studio to record her NEW album of songs.

The studio is the gorgeous Orphan Recording Studios and with two sessions down the material is sounding “whopper” already!

You will be updated as the recording process develops and watch this space for release dates and ‘titbits’ of music & fun!

Back to the studio…

After a stomper year of nationwide tour and album release with my collaborator Don Baker I am now back in the studio recording a range of material.

I had the pleasure of recording with my great friend and mentor Marion McEvoy in her cosy & funky Panchord Studio

This was a creative and inspiring day and I loved returning to my natural habitat.. great to get my new ideas down on ‘tape’.. watch this space for some snippets of new material…

Keepin’ on keepin on… writing… creating… playing… that’s all we can do… as a Nobel Prize winner once said:

Don Baker… Renowned bluesman, songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player has joined forces with emerging unique vocalist & songwriter, Clara Rose to create an unforgettable show featuring their own music and collaborations from their new album, “Baker Rose”.

The man affectionately known as ‘The Don’ became a professional musician in 1973. His expressive skills on the harmonica have drawn accolades from artists as varied as Bono and Christy Moore. His recent role in popular Irish soap ‘Fair City’ has cemented Baker into a household name.

Clara Rose… has been writing and performing her original music for 10 years. She has performed as a solo artist across Ireland, Europe and the U.S.A. Her acclaimed solo releases lead her to feature as an artist on Don’s, ‘My Songs, My Friends’ (2013).

“Baker Rose embrace an eclectic mix of folk, rock, country and jazz, neither Don nor Clara strays far from their blues roots …when they share vocals they can take a song to places it’s never been before” (Jackie Hayden, Hotpress Magazine)

Clara Rose – Ciao Italia!

I have just returned from a successful mini-tour of Udine & surrounding area in beautiful Northern Italy.

I played at the ‘St. Patrick’s Festival’ with gigs in Gorizia and Remanzacco. I was joined by Franco Giordani – a wonderful songwriter and performer from the area. Franco’s daughter drew this gorgeous image of our soundcheck!There were some lovely people at the gig including this group of English Language Students who enjoyed their night – don’t you think this look works for me?!

On Monday night we played in Auditorium de Cesare in Remanzacco.

Franco had his full band and we were joined by the wonderful Massimo Gati on Mandolin for the finale – what fun we had! The audience even sang along to “The Fields of Athenry” with the lyrics provided!

My song “Broken Woman Blues” was even played on national Italian radio (RAI) to promote the festival. The show on Monday 14th was well reviewed in INSTART magazine: Italian concert review INSTART Magazine

The reviewer said of my voice, “Clara has the voice of music . Warm , heady , sweet and powerful…A voice that does not fear anything, that shines its light and perfectly in tune.”

I loved every moment of these gigs and my time in Northern Italy – fingers crossed it is not too long until I return once more!
