Clara Rose is a powerhouse vocalist, performer and songwriter. Her third album, ‘Live, LIVE, Love’ was independently released to critical acclaim. Clara has graced national and international stages with her original folk, roots and powerhouse blues music, even rocking a tent Glastonbury with hit show “Ladies in the Blues”. According to Blues Blast Magazine, “When it comes to female musicians, sometimes people focus on their looks and vocal prowess more than their instrumental skills, but Clara Rose delivers on all fronts… Her vibe is one part whiskey, one part roses, and one part Gaelic grit.”

Clara Rose releases her new E.P, Travelling Soul on Tuesday 14th April. For this collection of songs, Clara collaborated with vocalist, Elizabeth Monahan (pictured above beside Clara) who just happens to be her mother!
The new E.P from Clara Rose, Travelling Soul is a departure from her usual powerhouse vocal style to a more soulful, contemporary folk genre. The 4 original songs on the E.P were written and inspired by time Clara spent on the beautiful Achill Island, Co. Mayo. The 5th track features her mother, Elizabeth Monahan, on lead vocals and is a version of the traditional country classic, Red River Valley. The recording interestingly features both of Clara’s parents, her mother, Elizabeth on vocals and father, Alan on Banjo on title track, “Travelling Soul”. Recorded and mixed by Marion McEvoy (Panchord Studios) there is also fiddle by Cathy McEvoy and percussion by Shane Atlas. Resulting in a feast for the ears of stories, song and soulful music.
Clara Rose curates an evening of music in The Garage Theatre, Monaghan to celebrate International Women’s Day 2020. Homegrown local artists Annie June Callaghan and Bronagh McCabe will join forces with Clara Rose for an evening of their songs and stories. Each artist brings their unique gifts to the show, resulting in a combination of stunning vocals, rock, soulful blues, power punk, dark roots and contemporary folk. This promises to be a night to remember, celebrating Women in Music in Monaghan.
This concert is also part of Clara Rose’s 2020 live album recording project where a series of her shows will be recorded to create a live album. Her set at this concert will also be filmed as part of the project. Very exciting times!
